Abstract

The study reviewed the influence of leveraging multimedia resources in teaching and learning Biology in public Senior Secondary Schools in Orumba South L.G.A. The population of the study consists of four hundred and fifty (457) of SS 11 students and 13 biology teachers in the 13 government secondary schools in Orumba South L.G. A. Simple random sampling method was used to select two hundred and thirty nine (239) comprising of two hundred and thirty one (231) SS11 students and eight (8) Biology Teachers from 8 schools in Orumba south L.G.A. Anambra State. Instrument for data collection was questionnaire of 24 items. The questionnaire were distributed by the researcher with the aid of research assistant to ensure 100% return. Mean were used for data analyses. The findings show that using multimedia resources in teaching and learning biology have a positive influence as it facilitates effective teaching as well as enhancing students’ achievement in Biology thereby yielding sustainability in education. It was recommended, among others, that stakeholders in secondary schools (government, parents and other concerned citizens) should provide the needed multimedia devices to aid effective teaching and learning of Biology in secondary schools.
